Landscape Committee

  • Chairperson: Kathy Marlatt

The goal of the landscape committee is to communicate community needs to the Board of Directors. Their primary role is not to establish policies, but rather to provide information and options to enable the Board to make fully informed decisions for the common good of the Association. This is accomplished in two ways. First is a common area inspection to look for possible ways to improve and enhance common areas. The second is to review potential landscape improvements, propose changes or maintenance issues and make recommendations to the Board.

The design guidelines require that the existing footprint and design is maintained in all general common areas and that all new plantings and design considerations blend into and complement the overall style and intention of the Cresta Palos Verdes community.

The committee is not authorized to financially or legally obligate the Cresta Palos Verdeds HOA in any manner (i.e. contract for services, hire contractors, borrow money, purchase equipment or supplies or approve such a request on behalf of the Cresta Palos Verdes HOA) unless it has been specifically approved by the HOA Board.

Tennis Committee

  • Chairperson: ?

The roll of tennis committee, like the landscape committee, is to communicate community needs regarding the tennis courts and their use to the Board of Directors. It is important for the committee to bring any issues with the tennis courts to the attention of the board. This may include physical issues with the courts, nets, and other equipment. The tennis committee has the same limited powers as all community committees. This includes the inability for the committee to obligate the Cresta Palos Verdes HOA financially or legally in any manner.

The committee is responsible for encouraging the use of this amenity to the Cresta Palos Verdes community. This may include the organization of community tennis tournaments and workshops.

For additional information about the tennis courts and their use please see the R&R’s and the amenity’s section of this website.

Architectural Committees

The HOA architectural control committee is responsible for maintaining the community’s property values. Committee members will review design applications from homeowners and see whether they comply with the architectural guidelines stated in the governing documents. The committee will then make a recommendation to the board to approve or deny the request. All physical changes to your residence must be approved by the board. This includes new garage doors, front doors, entry and patio replacement, windows, gates, AC units, interior wall modifications, additional fixtures, and more. This prevents residents from installing elements that may lower the property values within the community.
